JourneyCare Hospice is seeking a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to join our growing team!
Are you passionate about giving back to the community and inspiring others to do the same? Do you enjoy managing and coordinating a diverse group of dedicated volunteers? JourneyCare is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to lead a team in the Chicagoland community, including our Chicago Inpatient facility. Join us and help make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in hospice care and their families. JourneyCare nearly 300 volunteers who participate in various services, including veteran services, vigil services, art, craft, sewing, clinical rotations, music, photography and pet therapy.
Qualifications:
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and the ability to speak before groups with sensitivity and compassion.
- Significant group organizational experience.
- Volunteer experience desired, particular in recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers.
- Knowledge of hospice.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
- Demonstrates excellent observation, problem solving, verbal and written communications.
- Shows ability to organize and prioritize workload independently
HOURS: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm and Occasional Nights/Weekends
TERRITORY: Palos Heights, IL
Salary: $27.88 - $31.25 Hourly - Offer Based on Years of Experience

What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement Volunteer Training Program.
- Recruit and train volunteers.
- Develop and maintain volunteer retention programs.
- Assures compliance with all regulatory issues related to volunteers.
- Develop programs that maximize the use of volunteers in both clinical and administrative services.
- Assumes other duties as developed by the Director of Operations
- Assists in the recruitment, training and development of all volunteer programs as needed.
